Pupp 2.10R1 - support for "Video for Linux"

#1 Post by NickBiker »

Hi

I am just starting working with the new Puppy Kernel 2.6.x.

Does anyone know if the support for "Video for Linux" is in the kernel? I need this to get my videocam wizard working for Puppy 2! At the moment it appears not to have this support and I cannot locate the "videodev" module.

Any help?

Thanks
Nick

It is in the kernelmodules-addon:

sh-3.00# pwd
/mnt/sda6/puppy2/kernelmodules/all-modules/kernel/drivers/media/video

sh-3.00# ls -1 v*
v4l1-compat.ko
v4l2-common.ko
video-buf.ko
videocodec.ko
videodev.ko
vpx3220.ko

But they seem not to work in work 2.10.
They were compiled for Puppy 2.02 with a different compiler :(

Hi Mark,
Do you mean the tar.gz file "All modules for k2.6.16.7, compiled 19 July 2006, for Puppy v2.02" ?? As not sure where to find "kernelmodules-addon"!
