How to make usb e-reader visible in Tahrpup? (solved)

#1 Post by jakobcornelis »

I am giving Tahr 6.0.6 a try. Seems all right except when when I try to plug in my ereader as a usb device, it does not show as an icon, as any memory sticks do. How do I deal with this? The ereader works fine on, say, Precise 721, and other pups, so it's not the ereader or the USB cable.

Jake,
HPCompac Model DC7100 SFF,
CPU: P4 3.0 GHz,
HDD: 80 GB- SATA,
ram: 1024 MB,
OS: Tahr 6.0.6

Is this a fresh new install of Tahrpup?
If yes.
Try a delete and start fresh.
Re-download of the Tahrpup 6.0.6 iso.
Fresh clean install.

Ereader turned on or off make a difference?

If hard drive partition is formatted fat32 or ntfs the file system could be fragmented.
That can cause install problems.
Windows defrag and chkdsk can fix that, but it is programs in Windows.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected
YaPI(any iso installer)

Thanks for that, bigpup. Meanwhile, I am left with rotten egg on my face - at least I think I found the problem: a mix-up with other newly downloaded pups in other partitions on the same drive. Having sorted that out it looks OK now. Excuse? Excessive fatigue and old age, I guess.
