Since version 52, firefox only supports pulseaudio for sound. But many puppies don't have pulseaudio installed.

The solution ? Rinat Ibragimov wrote a programm called apulse , which emulates pulseaudio. So you dont need pulseaudio to have sound in firefox. You just need to run "apulse firefox" and it works.
apulse should be in most of puppies, otherwise install it from the puppy package manager.

Download firefox from mozilla website and extract it to /opt (Or install it from the puppy package manager)

To make a desktop icon for firefox using apulse :
1/open rox
go to /opt/firefox/
move "firefox" to the desktop to create an icon

2/ right click the firefox icon on the desktop
select "edit item"
Clicking the icon opens : /usr/bin/apulse
Arguments to pass : /opt/firefox/firefox

3/ you can set a PNG icon
right click the "firefox" on the destop
choose from menu : file firefox - set icon
open rox and move /opt/firefox/browser/chrome/icons/default/default128.png there
