Would it be possible, in a future update of Xenial 7.5, to add an lp module to the kernel? This would be very useful for linux users with a parallel port printer.

Try opening a terminal and type "change_kernels". I use huge-3.14.56-tahr_PAE.tar.bz2 in just about everything I run. It works on all my old machines and has the lp.ko module.
