Easytag.pup - view, edit and write ID3 tags

#1 Post by oli »

Hi,
I made a dotpup of easytag 1.99.3-1. This is the stable version of Debian. The dotpup contains the files of two others packages too: libflac6 and libid3-3.8.3 These two packages are necessary to run easytag and are not part of puppy 2.10r1.

easytag is a program for viewing, editing and writing the ID3 tags of different audio files.

This is the list of files and directories:

/usr/bin/easytag
/usr/lib/menu/easytag
/usr/share/applications/easytag.desktop
/usr/share/doc/easytag/
/usr/share/easytag/
/usr/share/locale/cs/LC_MESSAGES/easytag.mo
/usr/share/locale/da/LC_MESSAGES/easytag.mo
/usr/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/easytag.mo
/usr/share/locale/es/LC_MESSAGES/easytag.mo
/usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/easytag.mo
/usr/share/locale/hu/LC_MESSAGES/easytag.mo
/usr/share/locale/it/LC_MESSAGES/easytag.mo
/usr/share/locale/ja/LC_MESSAGES/easytag.mo
/usr/share/locale/nl/LC_MESSAGES/easytag.mo
/usr/share/locale/pl/LC_MESSAGES/easytag.mo
/usr/share/locale/ro/LC_MESSAGES/easytag.mo
/usr/share/locale/ru/LC_MESSAGES/easytag.mo
/usr/share/locale/sv/LC_MESSAGES/easytag.mo
/usr/share/locale/uk/LC_MESSAGES/easytag.mo
/usr/share/man/man1/easytag.1.gz
/usr/share/pixmaps/EasyTAG.xpm
/usr/share/pixmaps/easytag.xpm
/usr/lib/libid3-3.8.so.3
/usr/lib/libid3-3.8.so.3.0.0
/usr/share/doc/libid3-3.8.3/
/usr/lib/libFLAC.so.6
/usr/lib/libFLAC.so.6.0.1
/usr/share/doc/libflac6/
/tmp/readme.txt

The dotpup runs with puppy 2.10r1.

Thanks for the great dotpup. Works for me.

This is a great program I have used on other distros.

Anyone with a large mp3 colection needs this dotpup.

2 Questions

#5 Post by disciple »

Easytag is an absolutely suberb program - thanks for packaging it!

First question: the menu entry for this dotpup runs: easytag %F
This does not seem to do anything. If I remove %F then it works fine. Is this a mistake, or does it work for other people?

2nd question: someone seems to have done the 1.99.13 (most recent and much newer) version - look in http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Multimedia/ - but when I try to install the dotpup it unzips and installs and asks if I want to delete the dotpup, but doesn't seem to have actually installed anything.
Does anyone know what is going on - is someone working on it, or should I have a go at packaging 1.99.13?

Hello disciple,

to your first question: I run Puppy 2.10r1 and I build and tested the dotpup with this version. I have no problems to start easytag. That's why I can't explain the errror. Perhaps you run another Puppy version. But it's good that you wrote your solution so other users can try your solution too.

Because the newer version of easytag was build by another user, I can't help you at your second question.
