VLC and VLSub

#1 Post by labbe5 »

If you are a user of VLC, by now you probably know how to download subtitles via VLC.

Let's see what VLC can do for you in terms of downloading subtitles, if you are not familiar with it.

The tool's name is VLSub, and the way to use it is first Search by hash, results will be in sync, and your second choice is Search by name, results can be out of sync when searching by name, so you can have one pinpointed result with hash search and 10 bad results with name search.

If you are not a native english speaker, the ability to download english subtitles can save the day when watching american blockbusters.

There is still another way to download subtitles :

Puppy and Dog users need to look for use of script in terminal, downloading subtitles via right click from file manager is only available for popular window managers, such as Caja, Nautilus, etc.
