a replacement for Tor Browser

Tor Browser comes packaged with Tor. But Tor Browser uses Firefox ESR (as of now 52), whereas you would like to use latest Firefox for browsing.
There is a solution.
Only change some settings. It is not a perfect replacement for Tor Browser, nonetheless you have enhanced privacy, using Tor.
Make sure you always use HTTPS websites, because of Tor exit nodes (traffic is encrypted in Tor, but not on exit nodes).
First install Tor :

Reboot.
Or
If on systemd : service tor start
Then, open Firefox 59, go to Preferences/Network Proxy/Settings
There click Manual Proxy Configuration, and add :
SOCKS Host : 127.0.0.1 port 9050
Finally, go to about:config on address bar, accept warning and configure remote dns.
In search bar, type dns
Then double click on network.proxy.socks_remote_dns to change value to true.
For latest Firefox to be a replacement for Tor Browser add NoScript and HTTPS Everywhere addons. Tor Browser does not allow other addons. Other addons may break your anonymity if not configured properly.
Now, you can enjoy latest Firefox with Tor, but with more control over your browsing habit than while using Tor Browser.
Check if your setup is fine with : https://check.torproject.org/
