PostPosted: Sun 25 Mar 2018, 09:32    Post subject: Why doesn't it list the incoming server under preferences
Subject description: I need to specify the security settings - I can only do it for SMTP

I can't find the incoming settings like port, etc.. I had it at one time before it crashed. I want to specify SSL/TLS and normal password.

Which version of Fatdog have you got there?

Have you ever heard of TeamViewer? It's a remote connection client.

You run it, I run it. You send me an invitation, I connect and operate your desktop.

The program is switchable as well --I can invite you to connect and see my system.

Using TV for this situation would put you in business and eliminate a lot of potentially wasted time.

PostPosted: Sun 25 Mar 2018, 09:48    Post subject: I just downloaded Seamonkey 2.49
Subject description: I tar it out into a directory

But when I try to run it with ./seamonkey it can't find the file.

I'm going to reboot.

PostPosted: Sun 25 Mar 2018, 09:57    Post subject: I downloaded the latest seamonkey which I thought was 2.49
Subject description: But when I run it from the command-line in the directory

seamonkey

Seamonkey runs and I check it's version in the about box but it's Seamonkey 2.39, not 2.49 as I thought it should be.

I keep getting blocked. Even google's email system thinks that someone is trying to break into my account. This sucks.

PostPosted: Sun 25 Mar 2018, 10:14    Post subject: I restarted the email client and it downloaded the emails
Subject description: Things are starting to work

That's good because I have a minor stomach ache right now.

I just want to get my emails stored away and archived to some DVDs.
h

I just hit a worng key.

Anyway, relaxing security might be what made google happy at their end.

I'd like to do this with other emails. But I better check how much room this is taking up. I don't need it for all my email accounts, just one of them.

PostPosted: Sun 25 Mar 2018, 10:20    Post subject: I would like to some day re-enable security
Subject description: I could only rely on others for that purpose

I don't know what browser/ssl etc.. combination I need to make it all work.

I hadn't normally been a Seamonkey user - I am now using Seamonkey. I don't mind as long as it's as good as Google Chrome. I wonder if I can use Google Chrome and log in and also use my email client as Seamonkey.

There's a lot of diddling around that I need to do - all of which doesn't get any work done.

Pappy, I'm gonna ease off and "share" in helping you get your POP/IMAP connected.

Final note: Open Gslapt, hit "Update" then search for and update Seamonkey to v2.48.
