I can't tell you on your exact machine, but I did a live boot CD (CloneZilla) on a Win8 "All In One" -- it was a bit of a pain.

I don't recall the details, but that one had an option stored somewhere that prevented booting from a live CD. I had to disable that "feature", then it worked. I don't recall if it was in the BIOS, or part of the Win8 boot controls (I think it may have been the latter -- it's been a few years since I did this).

This should be controlled by a setting in the computers bios.
Windows has a way to access this when running Windows 8 or 10, but pressing F2 key goes directly to the bios setup before you boot Windows.

If this is a UEFI bios.
You may have to turn off secure boot and or enable legacy boot to see the option in the bios setup.

My UEFI bios has to have secure boot disabled in bios to even offer other devices to boot from.
With secure boot enabled, you do not see any boot device options.
This also turns on/off the ability of F8 to offer boot options.

Some place in the bios setup has to be an option to select what device to boot from.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected

Hi Kiramm,

You asked "where is then the sense of saifty boot?"

Suggest you read George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four or see the movie and pay attention to the concept "Doublespeak". Short-cut: look it up on wikipedia. But the story in either form is worth experiencing.

Then read my footnote to this post, http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 159#858159 and my next three posts on that thread.

There's a reason Microsoft is referred to as "The Evil Empire".

You may need to disable "Fast Startup" in Windows before you can get into the BIOS.

No multi-boot systems should have "Fast Boot" enabled ..
