Problem with Puppy Log Out applet

#1 Post by puppy_apprentice »

Hello, I've something messed up in my Slacko 5.7 recently.

I can't reboot, shutdown, restart X, exit to prompt from Puppy Log Out applet.
I've have all scripts like: wmreboot etc.

I can only reboot from console with reboot command.

Might be this problem. Check if /etc/windowmanager contains the correct name for the window manager you're currently using (for example, "jwm" if you you are using the JWM window manager). If not, editing the file should fix it - or typing xwin jwm to restart X with the correct setting for JWM, if you are currently at the command prompt. (Whatever you type after "xwin" will become the content of /etc/windowmanager. If you type something invalid, the shutdown function, which uses the content of that file to get the name of the WM it has to kill before exiting X, will fail.)
