I don't receive notifications from the forum.

I mark "Notify me when a reply is posted" in threads I create; and when people submit posts - I don't get notifications.
BTW - maybe it relates to the fact that in the past - most notifications ended in spam in Gmail.

See if the fix posted here helps you.

The third post gives a fix that seems to work for Gmail.

As far as I can recall, in every case where notifications weren't coming, it turned out that the notifications were being shunted to the spam folder.

If it isn't that, I don't know what else it could be.

Flash - as I said - it use to arrive to spam. My guess is that after Google's filter program becomes certain enough that it is spam - it stops passing it through to the Email at all. And I marked it as "not spam" - many times; and it didn't change the fact that it arrived to spam.

bigpup - OK - I've made the filter in Gmail.
Tell me something... talk to me. :-)

Did you get a notification that there was a reply to this thread?

No. :-(
I found some old notification from here and made the filter; but maybe that one didn't end in spam. All the ones which ended in spam in the past - I deleted; and Gmail deletes them entirely, so I can't make the filter.

Should I go to Gmail\Google help-forum? Or do you think the problem may be here?

As far as I know, everyone not using gmail who opts for notifications from the forum gets them. Actually I use gmail and I get notifications when I tick the little box for them. They've never wound up in my spam folder.

Try Google help and keep us posted. This is a recurring problem.

Now I also marked "don't send to spam" and something else, in the filter; and added "john@murga.org" to contacts (by Gmail help-forum advice).
BTW - is "john@murga.org" - the only Email from which notifications are sent?

So post something.

I've had the same problem with my gmail account. Received only 2 notifications of watched thread updates in nearly 2-3 weeks, since a few days before Christmas, IIFC. Had the spam filter modified since the early days when Gmail first implemented their changes. I thought the Murga forum was under attack and unable to distribute as usual :(

PS Screenie of my in-tray, no deletions in that period

I wrote back to Gmail help forum, and they haven't replied "yet".

I change the Email here to another - that also redirects to my normal one, for which I see notification in the browser. The only possible problem is that it's also Gmail. If it won't work - I have another one; with notifications to Gmail - once a day. So - write "something" again.

"Great", an entirely new problem. The first time I tried to change my Email here - I didn't notice that it wasn't changed - because I didn't type my current password. Then I changed the Email; and I was logged-out. When I try to log-in - first there is a message that I may have typed the wrong password or username or my account is inactive. Then when I tried to retrieve my password - I got the message "Sorry, but your password cannot be retrieved because your account is currently inactive. Please contact the forum administrator for more information."

How to contact an administrator; or are they here \ one of you?

In the help-forum - they gave me this link - https://support.google.com/mail/answer/ ... -110283027
...and said:
As you are having problems receiving mail from a specific sender, send them the "delayed mails" troubleshooter.
Generally, when users are having difficulty receiving mails from just one sender, the issue lies with the sender's domain.

Meaning what, exactly? Why do I always get notifications?

Flash - I asked. You have Gmail, right?

Yes, and as far as I know I've always gotten notifications. I have to be careful to uncheck the "Notify me" box so my email isn't full of notifications from the forum. I never did any sort of configuring to gmail to get notifications, they just came, sometimes unbidden.
