Are you trying to use a 32bit Tahrpup save with a 64 bit Tahrpup?

Maybe, how can I tell?

A 64 bit Tahrpup should have a save named tahr64save

Watch the messages as Tahrpup64 boots and see what save it says is being used.

No tahr64 save.

Here's what I'll test next:

I have downloaded tahrpup64.iso from http://puppylinux.com/.

I will burn a CD and experiment with tahrpup64.

If that solves the issue, I'll do a major cleanup of the machine, reset my save file and run with TP64.

@Sky Aisling:-

I don't understand some of your setup, y'know. You're running Tahr64 6.0.5, yes? So how come you're running my 32-bit Google Earth 7.1.2 package, which I built for Tahr 6.0.5 (32-bit)? Confused

There is a 64-bit G.Earth package available.....

You seem to be running something of a mixture there. Which might be at the bottom of all this, TBH. Rolling Eyes

Might be just as quick to mount the ISO file, copy the contents across to your directory/partition, then simply run Grub4DOS. That's what I'd do.....and it's basically all the Puppy installer does in the long run.

It's what we call the 'quick'n'dirty' method. Works, though..!

Hello Mike,

Yes, you are observant. The setup seems mixed. That is why I'm going to start from scratch with the latest tahrpup64 and see if that cleans things up.
I'll install your Google Earth for 64 and any other coding that needs to be 64 bit if this next test proves good.

I'm fixing dinner now. So, it may be a while before I respond again.

Thank you for checking in.

PS - I've not had any major issues with the tahrpup that is on the machine now. The issue with the videos has occurred within the last year. I've been running Tahrpup for several years now.

Looks like you have the 32-bit version of Flashplayer installed. I think you may need the 64-bit version to use with Tahr 64. X86 refers to 32-bit.

Where do I find the 64 bit version of flashplayer?

If it says x86_64 in the name it should be the 64bit version.

Videos are working for me with no Flash Player installed.

Going to need a save, but use the PaleMoon Updater program and get the latest version of PaleMoon.
Try it.

That is usually the problem. Not using the latest version of the browser.

You for sure have no INTERNET content blocking program running?

Got it! The update of Pale Moon did the trick.

machine: HP HDX Premium Series 4GB RAM

Running Tahrpup64 from Live CD.

Running flashplayer-28.0.0.126x86_64.

I will explore more site videos probably in the morning.

I must have forgotten to do the update when I initiated the fresh .iso.

And, no, I didn't modify Pale Moon with an adblocker.

Thank you for hanging in there bigpup.

Subject description: Flash Update for Tahrpup-6.0.5 (not Tahrpup64-6.0.5)?

Is there a Flash update for Tahrpup-6.0.5? (not Tahrpup64-6.0.5) that solves the black screen "This Browser does not allow you to watch this video"?
Does it work in SeaMonkey as well as PaleMoon?

Thank you in advance.

Hallo, Sky.

Should be the current one in Oscar's repo. Yup, here you go:-

http://smokey01.com/OscarTalks/flashplayer-28.0.0.126-i386.pet

Whether it'll fix the problem for you or not, I can't say. We simply use the standard downloads available from Adobe, same as everyone else.....

See what happens.

Thanks, Mike

The issue is solved for running Tahrpup64 via Live CD in the HP HDX 64bit machine. See thread above.

I have another machine an Asus 32bit that I was setting up to run Tahrpup-6.0.5 32bit via Live CD. I already have the Flash app you suggest running in it, but, with no joy.
However, "The streets of Heck are paved with good intentions". I was going to give the machine away as a gift yesterday, but the recipient didn't want it. So, it's tucked away in the storage cabinet again. The issue is 'solved' again. Very Happy

Happy Boxing Day!
