When I open Puppy Network Wizard (step 1) I don't see wlan0 but only eth0
That indicates no driver to load it.
Try doing what it says here:

This is for the 3.14.55 Linux kernel.
To make sure that is what you are using.
Run menu>System>Pup-Sysinfo>Sys-specs>kernel.
This will tell you which kernel is used.
If not correct for the kernel being used.
Look in this topic for other choices.

Try the Network Wizard again after you get a driver.
You could just try a newer version of Puppy.
It may have better support.
Xenialpup is a good one to try.
Limbomusic's idea may work too.
Changing to a newer kernel does add newer hardware support.
