Puppy on DELL inspiron mini ATOM cpu

Currently running Slacko 5.7 on my newly acquired netbook (from my newly acquired daughter, I just remarried my ex wife after 35 years of divorce)
A few bugs, so far:
The mouse pointer has the shape of a 1/2 " square that looks like a color version of a QR code, and I use the upper left corner to click.
Also, some web pages display is messy.
CPU is dual core ATOM intel Z530 @ 1.6 MHz>
Screen is 1366x768 pixel.
I would prefer a Debian based puppy as I intend to run SDR ham radio software on it; GQRX, & GNU radio with my HackRF 1 platform, and Debian has those packages.

The messy webpages might be because of support for Firefox 17ESR dwindling. If so, there are few options in Slacko 5.7 that might work better like Palemoon or Slimjet (slimjet-14.0.16-slacko14.0.sfs). I sometimes experiment with both as some web developers support Chrome-based browsers better and some Firefox-based ones.

Are you sure it's a Dual Core? I think Z530 is one of the original single-core Atoms:

edit: Ah ok, it's has "hyper-threading" so I guess it could show up as two cores.

This type of CPU shows 2 processors, sometimes @ different speed on hw info.

I installed chromium 25 & it fixed the display.

Now, what could be the package I need with loads of mouse pointers ?
