Was it Mel Brooks who use to say if you can get 'em to flip ya off, you've got their attention? Doesn't matter, I'm with Geoffrey on this one. Of all the crap we've got to continually worry about on the Web, now we've got this to deal with too? It almost ticks me off so much that I'd seriously consider helping fund some gifted "blackhat hackers'' to go after the screwballs who have this on their sites. Grrrr

Also, I don't get, reading that link Perdido put up, why can't browser developers combat this and/or ameloriate it? Or are they tune deaf to to it or possibly in on it?

Somehow, I think this stuff is a lot more widespread than we realize.

Claims of wiretapping visitors to the Casper Mattress web site to try and identify site visitors by name and address
has resulted in a lawsuit against one of the script providors.

Some more creepiness about the company, NaviStone.

Real sleazebags out there. Kind of reminds me of the old gator (gain) spyware in its sleazyness.
gator -This is google search results for "gator spyware". in case you don't know/remember that crap.
