Song of the Day

#1 Post by musher0 »

Hi people.

We've had a "Pic of the Day" thread for a long time. So why not a "Song
of the Day" thread?

As the sub-title says:
Please leave in this thread the URLs of good free music that you
wish to share.

By "free", I mean music or songs with a Creative Commons license or
similar. No copyrighted material please: there are dedicated torrents and
on-line clubs for that. If you want to infringe copyright law, it'll be on you.

Also musical pieces only, please: no podcasts, no interviews, no news, etc.
We can find those all over the Web, but musical "jewels" are hard to come
by these days.

Among other reasons, because it's so easy to publish your music on the
Web, a lot of musicians with an once of talent can fall prey to the illusion
that they are a great composer. This is not very good for us listeners: we
lose a lot of time looking for good music on the Internet. If this thread can
help us a bit to locate good music, it will be "mission accomplished".

~~~~~~~
Being the Linuxian that I am, I'll start off the party with Include.mp3 ;),
by composer "AnalogX", which I find to be a good rhythmic techno piece.
(It has a CC license.)
Have a great day!
Great idea for a thread musher0 !
Although I'm afraid:
because it's so easy to publish your music on the
Web, a lot of musicians with an once of talent can fall prey to the illusion
that they are a great composer.
lol :-) ok, probably me in a nutshell right there ;-)
My silly contribution:
Hi, Limbomusic.
Nice to have a Puppyist contribution. :)
Good beat, good arrangement on your song (IMO), there, Limbomusic. But
I didn't know 'roos sang through their noses, eh? ;) (We Canadians don't
much about Down Yonder!) :lol:
I'm sorry musher - I hijacked and destroyed your wonderful thread with all my inane postings. Please feel free to open a new - like this one - I will stay the f away.
But as long as I'm here - and drinking beer - I might just as well contribute an instructorliy video on jazz ballet dancing.
Oh it was the least I could do.
Difficult to choose one, the hole album it's lovely. IMO.
I've chosen this because the composer is also the singer. Don't have to mention he is from Argentina.
Hello all.
I thought there were only Tasmanian devils in Tasmania... How wrong could I be...
https://www.tso.com.au/about/
I discovered this wonderful orchestra through Radio Suisse Classique
(http://stream.srg-ssr.ch/m/rsc_fr/mp3_128).
TSO is currently playing (Nov. 23, 2017 at 9:15, Ottawa time [EST]):
Concerto for piano and orchestra, op. 73, by Jacob Rosenhain
A major symphony orchestra at the end of the world. Wow.
