My older hardware just breathed a big sigh of relief.

Cool. I'm going to be sticking with the 2.x series though. Two reasons: One, I like the writable filesystem without needing workarounds. Two: I don't have time to play with both.

Have fun!

Pizzasgood are you still thinking of being a project leader for a 2.xx series Community edition? Will you have time? Smile

I'd consider it after Pizzapup. I've got the itch really bad now, so there's no way I could do a community without first making a personal pizza. Plus I'll be able to identify methods of doing things better. I'd rather test things on my own flavor than the community's.

Meanwhile I need to stick my nose back to the old grindstone and get my side-stuff done so I can move on. I had to take last week off since it was an exam-week (so is this week, but for me it's only computer science, so I'm not exactly worried Wink ). So, I'm a week behind now. But I'm also re-energized after a trip to a theme-park. So, sleep now, grind tomorrow, cook in a week or two, and maybe do some community service in a month or two. Cool

Now I'm off to put my bed togeather so I can mess it up while getting a good night's sleep.

OK here is how to reverse engineer a pizza - just in case you need food as well as sleep Smile

If this is going to happen there needs to be work on backporting some of the tuff that is now in puppy2.

Wireless/ wag
ethernet/network wizard
MUT / mounting
puppy-universal-installer

I reckon all the wizards need updated as they are labeled.

Now that I have asked who is on-board ?

I'd be willing to do some work on it, but time schedules have a way of getting away from me right now. What are the goals of the project, BTW? Is the plan to base this off 109CE?

I know little about WAG, wireless, or the networking wizard. But I might be able to work a bit on the installer. It would not be straightforward to just try backporting the universal installer as we're talking about radically different filesystem structures, but it should be possible to guify the installer in general and integrate the various bits into one launcher without too much fiddling.

Nathan
