If you like playing with music tools, you will find plenty of stuff at KXStudio.

Using Mintpup, i first installed some deps :
$sudo apt install apt-transport-https software-properties-common wget

Then, with Uget, i downloaded and installed kxstudio-repos.deb :
https://launchpad.net/~kxstudio-debian/ ... o1_all.deb

Everything installed OK and a GUI was available using this command in
terminal : cadence

Info about Cadence and screenshots :

At the bottom of the page, pre-compiled binaries are available for Linux.

It is a useful GUI, especially for switching to jack music server.

Qjackctl is also a GUI for jack music server, available in standard repositories. With pulseaudio-module-jack installed, it works without problem with Mintpup.

Jack can be used with Audacious, just look for jack output in Preferences, Audio, Output Settings
