Puppy's Developers would like some help

#16 Post by Pelo »

Puppy's Dev would like some help. I am surprised that forces on Puppy linux forum are escaping to draw users to Debian or Antix projects !

For those who want to try a much more 'polished' DebianLive I can recommend "PointLinux"
http://pointlinux.org/download.html?ver ... irect=true
I'm running the XFCE version Live now (1GB ISO)
Debian (official) has a rather strict policy not to add 'non-free' components, e.g. by default it's not even enabled in /etc/apt/sources.list, you have to add it manually (contrib non-free)
Pointlinux has included non-free components and therefore has much more firmware included (e.g. for WiFi) and also customized desktop (XFCE with Whisker-menu).

Maybe I will take Pointlinux as a base in HowTo about creating porteus-boot initrd, not sure yet.
