Firejail and Firetools (GUI for Firejail)

#1 Post by labbe5 »

https://firejail.wordpress.com/

Sandboxing applications in an easy way with Firejail and Firetools.

.deb file available for Ubuntu 15.x and Debian Sid.

I have tried to install Firejail and Firetools in Mintpup. Dependencies seem to be unavailable for it.

By installing Firejail, you are protecting yourself against hacking while on the internet, for Firefox, VLC, etc.

alphaOS is basically based on Arch and was made by a troll that used to hang around here. Honestly, I've tested it before a couple years ago and hated it.

I'd forgotten somewhat about that...

I don't think he meant to be a troll, at least at the beginning... just extremely strongly opinionated. I agree that things did not go well for him, though.

I'm trying to remember... wasn't he one of the members with a three-letter acronym for a handle? I might be confused, there's about three of those on here, and I can never keep them straight.

Ah -- simargl, I remember him now... I had him confused with someone else, equally strongly opinionated.

I don't think that simargl started off trying to troll people -- here or elsewhere... I think the situation devolved and he chose that route later on.

Could be wrong, my memory's not the best. Meh... what's done is done, there... so I guess it doesn't really matter at this point.

I`ve been running Firejail with Firetools for about a month now on a full install of mx-16 to hd on an old e-machines(single core/2gigs of ram) , and have found nothing to bitch about.
