How to use RX 480 video card in Puppy?

#1 Post by Domaldel »

The RX 480 is not compatible with the old fglrx drivers nor the old open source driver stack.
There are new Unbuntu drivers for this card but I'm not sure how to install them on this distro.
Yeah, I'm a pupplet nubie. -_-

Anyway, do any of you guys have any suggestions about how to get started, it's kind of frustrating to have such a low resolution on this distro.
And no, the default video wizard isn't helping...

Yeah, that one's current and would be a stretch for the video wizard.

As there are quite a few, "this distro" is referring to "which" pup?

Sounds like you have a clue. Which pages of interest have you come across?

The web suggests a recent kernel, the devx, kernel src and a few goodies from Oibaf / Paulo Dias.

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
