As of March 14,2020 Youtube no longer permits older browsers such as Firefox27 found in AtomicPup2020. Therefore, I will upload tuuxxx's alpha version of Slacko5.7 trimmed and seecuritized/privatized just like the 2020 version. For the most part its transparent to the old version, but certain older websites don't play well with this newer version.

***EDIT*** Forgot to add this... Frugal install should use a 1Gb partition with at least a 256Mb save file. The save file gets generated AFTER the frugal install completes (2nd shutdown). I recommend 2Gb RAM memory DDR-II 533 or 667.

As I type this archive org went down for periodic maintain, so no upload just yet. Will try Mar. 31, 2020 in morning EDT.

AtomicPup-XX66 is an updated version of AtomicPup2020.
As of 3/14/2020 YOUTUBE no longer supports FF-27.
Therefore this updated version is needed.

Intended for older Intel Atom processors, AtomicPup-xx66
is based upon tuuxxx's alpha version of a modernized
Slacko5.7 by 01micko. This particular attempt does work
well, though an alpha release. Very important is the use
of OpenSSL version 1.1.1b that will not expire for some
time. This security version allows TLS 1.3 and 1.2. It
also allows captcha/recaptcha verification.

All other elements of AtomicPup2020 remain intact.

One quirk here is that in ALSA, the computer speakers
are set to ZERO volume, this due to my 11 Y.O. netbook
speakers biting the dust. If yours work, this 'bug' can
be fixed by raising the speaker volume to 50 and adjusting
to taste thereafter.

There is an addon for Firefox that lets you change what it identifies its self as. I haven't tried it lately but of a long time I had FF-13 claiming it was FF-77 and folks who checked versions seemed to be quite well fooled.

Youtube has the problem of having programmer with nothing better to do than to change code at random. Firefox seems to have much the same sort of problem except that they have real issues to fix but that is harder than changing other random stuff.

Slackware has just released a security patch for gnutls.

"libgnutls: Fix a DTLS-protocol regression (caused by TLS1.3 support),
since 3.6.3. The DTLS client would not contribute any randomness to the
DTLS negotiation, breaking the security guarantees of the DTLS protocol."

This is a critical and necessary patch for TLS1.3

The default bookmarks has a link to slacware security.
Click on the gnutls update dated 03/31/2020
highlight and copy the slackware 14.2 i586 version link, and open in a new tab.
Answer yes in the yellow box to download.
Answer yes to script UI's

When done close Firefox66 and disconnect from internet
In root/.packages move the gnutls file to builtin and remove the previous version
/usr/doc files and /usr/info files can be removed

In usr/lib there will be two references that need altering by symlink

libgnutls.so.30.23.2 is deleted
right-click libgnutls.so.30.27.0 and select link
make sure the 'relative' box is checked
in the label-name bar change the 27.0 to 23.2
Click OK

At this point close all windows and perform a shutdown. In 5 minutes you can boot up the computer and reconnect to internet.

Slackwaare has released an update to gnutls to fix a rather nasty exploit involving TLS1.3... not only can an attacker intercept/control, it can read exchanges using TLS1.2. I consider this a high risk.

Download the new gnutls from the Slackware security webpage link provided in the default bookmarks. Select YES to install via PPM. Click OK when prompted. Wait until the updating of menu box clears, then close browser and disconnect from internet.

Guile has been modified, but only version 2.0.

In /usr/lib delete /usr/lib/libgnutls.so.30.27.0 and make a reletive link back from 30.28.0 by altering the "28" to "27" and click OK.

In /usr/docs the gnutls folder can be deleted, as can the usr/info files.

Do a reboot when done then reconnect to internet.

Yesterday 06/24 Slackware updated Curl to version 7.71. This update is an easy one... no symlinks. You may delete the usr/DOC if you don't work with Curl alot. The new root/.package can be moved to the Builtin Folder, with deletion of the most recent 'old' version. (Keep the 7.6.1 version, as its the base for updates)

AtomicPup-XX66 uses the 14.0 i486 version.
