@ ally & Pluto_neptun_99,

@ ally - Please note that the 8.1.5.iso was withdrawn. You may wish to remove it from archive.org

see: http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/quirky ... rus-8.1.5/

@ Pluto_neptun_99

A copy of the 8.1.6.iso is available on archive.org and here:

http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/quirky ... rus-8.1.6/

You need to be aware however that Barry's QUIRKY pups are experimental and whilst the
8.1.6.iso is fine as a LIVE iso attempting a frugal install from it creates a save file/folder
that cannot be saved to.

The issues with both these ISOs are unlikely to be resolved as Barry is now working on something new.

As a general comment, if you are new to Linux/Puppy you should start with one of the official releases
rather than experimental Quirky issues.

The official Pups can be found here: http://puppylinux.com

Be aware that Quirky 8.1.6 boots and works fine, with full savefile functions, but you have to follow and make the mods I wrote in the Quirky 8.1.6 'Bug' thread, here:

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... &start=375

The mods are not hard to make, and they make Quirky Xenial 8.1.6 fully functional with a savefile/savefolder. I've been using it for a few weeks now with the mods, and all is good. Helping others, I have noted that some (after making the mods) drop to the CLI on booting up, which is not a problem, as you just type in "startx" and you're off to the races.

P.S. There is one bug that only Barry can get at, and that is the constant welcoming screen to set puppy up. If you've already set a savefile and such, just close the pesky popup and all will be good.

I thought Pluto_neptun_99 was talking about a puppy that works with Windows 8.1, but since they didn't really specify, I guess "8.1" could mean anything, and we are at liberty to pick whatever we want as a response haha :) ;)
