Firefox - "Multi-Process Mode"

#1 Post by quirkian2new »

Hello,

recently i read the below somewhere. Has anyone any idea if such feature is available in FF45 ESR ? thanks

" Firefox has been testing a "Multi-Process Mode". The so-called "Multi-Process Mode" is that each tab/page is independent processed, no connection between the tabs/ pages, isolated from the browser's main core, so that when one of the tabs/pages freezed or hangs, the rest tabs/pages will not be affected. The user only has to kill/close the freezed tab/page but NOT the browser. "

AFAIK, this is only now being implemented in FireFox 52, the next version destined for release. As I understand it, Mozilla have been testing this over the last couple of releases, mostly on Windoze.....but not as far back as FF45.

But hey! what do I know? I'm just a Chrome user.....and don't have a lot of time for FireFox.
