Slacko pup sees Mint's /home contents blank

#1 Post by fleamour »

Hi

I need a copy of Mint's /home but Slack pupp sees no contents?!?

My Mint /home is XFS so cannot be resized so plan to manually copy /home to back up HDD then nuke partition, recreate/resize root & home then copy back home contents. This could be a permissions mess but need byte for byte copy of XFS home. Is this possible with pupp?

Have tried chowning recursively as root... XFSsprogs is not available...

I guess I'd ask how do you know there is anything in Mint's /home and why can't Mint do the copying? Also, are you sure that Slacko Pup can even see the XFS filesystem?

Files are present in live system. Need to move files offline. Mint USB sees but not permitted to mount internal /home BKF XFS even though tried to chown as root.

Asking the wrong questions:

Impossible to shrink an XFS partition so not enough room in / to upgrade Mint 17.3 => Mint 18.

Bum.

That'll teach me.
