Here's an article about ARM chips, and their advantages compared with Intel x86 chips.

Laptops and desktops could be equipped with ARM chips sooner than later, because of a jump in performance and because it is more energy-efficient.

Apple is conducting tests and the first ARM-based Macs could appear in 2017.
