today loked with sb movie from internet page with movies
and went ashamed was not loud enough
i looking rarely and untill now with equiliazer trick worked

any extra equiliazer to push mooorrre up
couldn t find any one more yo work on

We must know the specific Puppy version?

If movie is played from a web page there are settings on that web page for sound level.
Right click on movie window or hover mouse pointer over it to see them.

In Puppy:
Right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar.
Select full window.
Make sure master and PCM is checked and turned up.

Also, check anything else that looks like something used in your system.

I concur with bigpup. It's almost certainly the PCM slider isn't high enough (it really needs to be set to maximum). That should fix it for you.

If it was ONE movie then it was most likely encoded that way.

I sometimes have the same problem and either increase the volume on my powered speakers or download the file and use ffmpeg to increase the sound level.

This Youtube tutorial explains how to increase the volume of a video file that you have saved on your PC https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyNGeKAU5WE
it's in english, though you may be able to grasp how it's done.

Example: ffmpeg -i /home/user/Desktop/lowSound.mkv -vol 2560 -vcodec copy /home/user/Desktop/HighSound.mkv

You need to crop your screen shots so that they are 800 pixels or less in width for them to be seen in the forum thread.

it happened on slacko 64 .exe

which is normally the loudest of all

and used by whom wants to look movies

i tried today at once again seeing ur nice answers

but strangly today all worked

so i am sorry for alarm i did

but was good to get all knowledge

now i know all about maxxloud??:)

by the way fireshots is impossible to get in this

why 64... not taking all pets?

i naturally crope to 800 in my other x slacko 4

or even less but 100 tries showe clearly tha hotshots at least in x slacko
is errorry like cinelerra

specially u put some arrows on

but think got out how to go around the bugs? in ur language;)

To all of you people spoking Engrish, Frenglish, Japanglish, etc. -- or not

There are TWO (2) volume sliders.

Retrovol has audio sliders but also gmplayer, gnome-mplayer, vlc, etc.
have their own volume slider.

If the volume e.g. for gmplayer is at zero (as happens by default all the
time when you start a song or a movie in gmplayer), of course you won't
hear anything even if the slider in the alsa-mixer or in the retrovol icon
is at 100 %.

For the user to hear anything, both sliders (the one for the player app and
the one for the retrovol) have to be at a reasonble level, say, 80 %.

yesterday looked movie again

and observed that all pequliazer full ab sound loud but strange

is it because of loud speakers ?
but think other movies i could hear louder but better voice
other looking movie same opinion
or digital internal enhancinng if too much make distortion?
better option?script?

looked up the forum
and found that haven t answered u here
verrry !!sorry have to save the tabs of forum better on firefox

therefore tried the script
script making better enchancment than pequiliazer?

i pasted with ctrl + alt

and got think not workig at slacko 64.exe

also found not hotshots s for this 64 to work

why????
