Adobe keeps moving the download location for FlashPlayer, so the Getflash program has to be updated to reflect the change. Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil

See if this one works.

I am using slacko64-6.9.6.4-uefi.iso

I made a 64 bit pet package for azpainter 2.1.1
Warning. It will only work in slacko 64 bits!
---> a fast paint program that is compatible with wacom graphics tablet.

Wacom graphics tablet works in slacko64-6.9.6.4-uefi.iso
Fortunately it has the needed wacom.ko driver.

I have to make a couple of modifications
1) xorg.conf file
2) install rules

I explain more in Wacom page.

The newest blender 3d graphics program will work in
slacko64-6.9.6.4-uefi.iso because it uses opengl 2.1

I'm running the latest version of Slaco64. I installed shadow from the puppy package manager because I wanted the adduser command. Everything installed fine but sore some reason some of my symbolic links from /usr/bin to /opt/java/bin disappeared. However, I don't know if this was related to installing shadow or not.

P.S. when I su to the new user I created it gives me a warning that there is no user called "scanner". How should I create said user?

Hi all.

This seems to be the latest 32 bit brew of 01micko's Slacko-700:
https://archive.org/download/Puppy_Linux_Slacko/slacko-700-RC3_k4.4.70-PAE_2018-08-19.iso
IHTH. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)

It's on the general Slacko page on the Internet Archive site:
https://archive.org/details/Puppy_Linux_Slacko

Downloading now.

Hello again folks.

I came out of my session with my new Slacko-700 Pup with a headache
and mixed feelings.

For some reason, I could feel the hand of the master, 01micko's focus on
conciceness, his obsession for the correct details in exactly the right place, but
at the same time I needed to do a lot of fiddling to get what i want out of it.

It's probably just me...

I noticed a couple of weird things, though:
-- I had to pluck the executable gtk_chtheme off another Pup. Slacko-700
does not have it. Slacko 700 has the wrapper but not the exec;

-- I could't copy to the same dir. with ROX. It just doesn't work. I had to
call a console in the dir. and do
Code:
cp blabla blabla.bckp
;

-- kernel 4.4 is such a slowpoke. Tomorrow I'll change to a speedier one;

-- there's no way the PPM can be made to work... (edit, Dec. 26, late
morning)
;

-- it hangs on reboot. I have to disconnect and reconnect the electrical
cord to get my computer back on.

If anyone knows the solution to any of the above, pls ring in below.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyway, after a lot of fiddling, as I said, I managed to come up with a
desktop I can look at. (Pls see attached.)
These new Pups should definitely come with an extra pet or sfs of
practical fonts and good GTK themes.
Tah-dah.
Hi musher0,
I believe, starting with Slacko 6.3, everything was moved to Menu -> Desktop -> Puppy Theme Manager, and the 2nd column at the bottom in it called "Apps decoration (gtk)" and the More button to the right of it became the new home of a gtk-theme preview/selector, and it's all connected through a template called "ptheme" now which is part of woof-CE when you build an iso, which is supposed to be a new global way to handle jwm 2.3.x and rox to replace the original jwmconfig + gtkchtheme + other standalone customization apps. Not sure if I'm as much a fan of the new ptheme as the old apps either, just explaining what seems to have happened. Smile
Hi BillToo.
Could you elaborate a little on: "this one"? Thanks.
Can't be peebee's new slacko, I think: it's still hot from the oven.
Also, I just edited my post above.
Hi
It's one that I downloaded the original iso from page 1 of this thread before it changed, then updated PPM and used the Update notices and Slackware Bugfixes from the setup menu.
The screenshot shows the 64 bit one that I did on Oct 10th.
Doing this takes a couple of hours but I find it works pretty well and then you just have to check for and apply any new updates once in a while.
Turning off all repositories except the Slackware 14.2 offial helps.
Hello all.
At peebee's request, I moved the post that was originally here, there.
I agree. It will keep this thread more on topic.
