Broadcom WiFi - install the wl driver yourself

The Broadcom wl WiFi driver is third-party software that must be compiled separately for each new kernel. Here is a do-it-yourself solution that should work with any 32bit Puppy or derivative since Slacko 593.

1. Switch your Puppy's kernel to k4.1.11. Read here for instructions. Use Steps 1-6.

2. Install the wl driver for k4.1.11. Download a PET here. Click the small green DOWNLOAD box.

3. You may need to blacklist the b43, ssb and bcma modules. Run System > BootManager > Modules > Blacklist. If b43, ssb or bcma appear in the left column, move them to the right. Reboot and run the "lsmod" command. Only the wl module should be listed.

Be aware that switching kernels may have side effects on things like video. Just to be safe, use this procedure on a clean install. A save file/folder must be in place before you start.
