r18: Nope, sorry - stops at ISOLINUX.....etc.
press stop gets the vesamenu.c32 nonsense.

Gonna have to upload somewhere else? Send a working CD to someone with an upload site?

@Sage I made a test I check the md5 checksum of the ISO image before upload and the checksum downloaded image. Their MD5 checksums matched and the downloaded image work nicely.

This means that there is a problem on your internet connection.

Sadly there is no problem with my internet connection - I d/l many files every day. If I had to guess, I'd say it was the ISP/server you are using that corrupts the files. It has a very strange 'get-out' statement. And the error message afterwards is just the same. Strongly suggest you use one of the more recognised portals or liaise with another board member.

A2400+, Radeon 0550, new d/l, different monitor, twice out of a dozen attempts to load, got into the booting routine but always ends with lock-up/black screen, no key combo functions.
Not sure whether Bill has more d/l s than me, he's prolific, I've been around 4yrs longer, have 100's (possibly 1,000 s)of d/l s and distros - never experienced such a persistent issue as this. Both machines I am using for testing at present boot everything, major and compact distros, CD-RW and DVD-RW, SD-in-adapter and USB.
At a loss. Let's see if smokey checks in...

Hi.

I'm asking this on all XFCE Puppy topics, sorry for bothering...

Probably you can give me some help?

I need some advice on how to add right click actions to a XFCE Puppy. As far as I could examine they are defined in file:

/root/.config/Thunar/uca.xml

Is this file created/edited manually or automatic by a script?

I'm asking because of its <unique-id>1422185653060257-1</unique-id> definitions.

How are they created?
Are they necessary?

How to add right-click actions within a running XFCE Puppy?

Thanks

Hi.

There is no appearance/conditions tab, or at least I couldn't find it. :?

So, where is that appearance/conditions tab?

Isn't there a just a simple or at least not too complicated way to add a right-click option by pinstall script when installing a package?

TAKE NOTE: The next release of X-Slacko Slim will be more bleeding edge because of radical changes in petget, pup_event, pmount, presize, and partview. Their tmp files was now contained in their own working folders in tmp for easy troubleshooting and less clutter in /tmp/

The /root/.pup_drive is now moved to /var/tmp/pup_frontend_drives

Not sure what this :
TAKE NOTE: The next release...
is all about, misty?!
r15 was good. Then followed a bunch of hiati, nothing worked on any of my machines and I was thinking of giving up. Finally r19 came along and - bingo - it worked on all machines again.
Now you give us r20 and it's back to the jungle - fails on all machines, if lucky on some machines give:
"Error 1000 reading sector 79425"
Can't afford to waste anymore time, will use r19 and forget. Sorry, seemed good project at first ...

Of course he's entitled, rg, as I said previously.
However, if it's a public offering, I can't afford my time as a mere user to examine so many distros which turn out to be problematic.
Carry on regardless, misty.

@Sage

Calm down, dont panic.

The next release that I talk about before was the release of r20. I just notify that r20 might be bleeding edge due to radical changes on some puppy scripts which declutters data files and more efficient.

I downloaded the r20 image that I uploaded and check the MD5 checksum. It matched.

Now I test it to boot. Then it boots.

It seems you have a problematic connection on google drive and you got a corrupted disk image. If you want to access to old versions of X-Slacko Slim you can find the link on the first post of this thread. The archive repo was maintained by @ally.

By the way if you have r19 iso then try to apply this delta file to create r20 iso then try it to boot. Dont forget to check the MD5 checksum.

Delta File: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Wou5V9 ... sp=sharing
MD5 Checksum: 7c42e65b1f2f3e000a57f9fe31b1996b

Every X-Slacko Slim releases was tested both virtual and real hardware before deploying it.

Thanks for those comments, misty. Afraid I'm just a user and tester. I really need 'ready-to-go' distros for my purposes and a super compact live CD is ideal for testing and diagnosis. As far as 'deltae' are concerned, I try to avoid them as it's a lot of hassle to load up two different live distros to accomplish the changes, then transpose to yet another medium when neither are my principle desktops. I suspect it's less of a problem for folks using a Puppy as their main system.

I can boot r20 on my ASUS netbook. I did have trouble dd'ing the ISO file to a USB key, though. The resulting partition was readable and well-formed, but unbootable. I had to resort to running rufus on Windows to get a bootable USB key.

The battery meter tray icon show 100% charge regardless of the real battery state. Sometimes it says it's "charged" with 0 minutes remaining. Pelo reported the same problem long ago. Any idea where to look to fix this?
