I am using an old Gateway notebook computer, that autodetection pairs with the ath9k driver. This is consistent across several puppy variants. What is not consistent is that performance, namely signal strength and bit rate, varies from one version of puppy to the next. It is notable that Wary 522 seems to work better. This is in comparison to FatDog 7.x and Precise 571 retro. Is this to be expected...or should performance depend largely on only the hardware and driver? If those are the only two main factors here, then performance should not vary so much. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thank you...
