The txz works with Slacko, so it should work with yours.

Pet downloading (slowly)

#7 Post by Pelo »

pet downloaded. Browsers get bigger and bigger. i usually use seamonkey-2.12.1-en.sfs: 28 M when installed browser is not enough for me. Theis version does all i need excepted that you tube will not use graphics tools with it for editing my videos. Unfortunately, you Tube consider 2.29.1 as an old browser.
An SFS of 2.29.1 would be nice, beside the pet.
Pet downloading (slowly) . Installation installed as it should, without trouble.
For desktop, if Seamonkey icon is really small, change it with a bigger one

Or you could do it yourself.

i have yet an SFS for my own needs

#9 Post by Pelo »

i have yet an SFS (i usually use seamonkey-2.12.1-en.sfs: 28 M) for my own needs. I have enough Puppy Linux knowledge to find SFS, and my tool case now well featured for my needs.
Perhaps all users are not yet able to do it, because newbies, or other reason. It was a suggestion.
Tar_Ni , thank you for the pet provided to everybody.
However Facebook cannot be opened with it.
Hum, after quick check :
Seamonkey 2.33.1 available for ToOppY users in Argolance packages. Argolance provides it as SFS too, Because he wants his users able to run their ToOpPy whitout having any knowledge of Programming (Family usage)
link
Languages available at Argolance shop see screenshot

Seamonkey 2.40 (fr) is available in Slaxen stores (Slacko 6.3.2)

Funny you said "
"An SFS of 2.29.1 would be nice, beside the pet." - sounds like a request for someone to make an SFS to me.

Nah sounded like a request to most people but hey if you know what you're doing thats peachy. As for other users they can use the wiki or ask in the forums in the appropriate place.

perhaps 'most people' need a newer version

#13 Post by Pelo »

most people shall feed back. My usual Sfs is enough for me. perhaps 'most people' need an newer version, but they shall ask for it, themselves.
I can provide seamonkey-2.12.1-en.sfs: 28 M, if enough

Grab one of these and use deb2pet to convert to a .pet - I have done it many times. Older versions are there too. Then use the .pet2sfs if you ain't to posh to do it yourself. (Too posh to push)

easier : just click 'update' to get the last version

#15 Post by Pelo »

easier : just click 'update' to get the last version, restart.. Only if you want the last version.. Which is not my wish
I only need last update to edit my videos on You Tube, and i have a special Puppy Linux to do that : my Slacko XFCE 410 (dev Jejy69) made in France with Firefox updated as soon a new version issued.

Robert123, around 150 users post each day in our forum. 20.000 at least never read it, because they don't understand English, and perhaps don't have the DoItYourself ability and spirit.
If you like, describe your process in forum francophone and en el foro iberico, some people will do it themselves perhaps.
Each locale Puppy has its Master : hungary s-kami, spane and South america (latina) : Nilson Morales, France medor
They compile pets needed for their thousands of passengers, who download them from reposirories
boxR inform us as soon as he has done pet and sfs for last release of Firefox, inviting people to his shop.
BoxR french packages for teachers and other users.
"aqui pueden encontrar paqueteria diversa compilados desde código fuente y otros de gran utilidad de otros repositorios, gracias tambien a Aztk por ayudarme con el proceso de subida de los paquetes al servidor." Nilson. Packages compiled from code source and many others, for peones de South america.
Sharing is in latin spirit, at least in Nilson Morales one.

Versions of SeaMonkey that you install have the "Update" feature, but Barry removes it from the SeaMonkey he includes with his Puppies. I don't know why; leaving it out causes lots of confusion. Does it take up that much room?

I don't know why B.K. has decided that

#17 Post by Pelo »

I don't know why B.K. has decided that. He must have some explanations given in his blog. Firefox and Seamonkey are so easy to use for everybody. I was never deceived by SeaMonkey. I use it loaded on the fly for some Puppies whose default browser is not enough (for me)

I installed this SM 2.29.1 pet.
I see google image search not working!
After uninstalling it, default precise 571 SM 2.19 works!

Any such observation at your desk?
