Laptop Wireless Success Story

#1 Post by Ahz the Cat »

It took several days of forum hunting and fiddling, but I got my Corega Wireless card up and running on this old Dell (inspiron 1100) laptop.

At first, I tried to use ndiswrapper with the windows driver that came with the card, but when I tried to load the driver using modprobe, I got a segmentation fault every time. So I used the Wifi-beta dotpup, and that worked great...modprobe fired the card right up.
WAG, apparently broken in 2.02, of course didn't work, so I'm using RutilT. Works great.
Really great.

Just thought I'd share, and my thanks to all the folks who post...the information in the forums is fantastic, and Puppy is a wonderful little OS...easy to tweak and lots of fun to use.

Thanks, folks!
