Can someone test this on different Puppy versions ?

Wine HQ says it isn't fixed even though I fixed what they said was wrong.

Hi, scientist.

Euh... you did mention "explosions", didn't you? Very Happy I don't know about others,
but I don't want to blow my apartment to pieces! Twisted Evil Especially in the middle
of the Canadian Winter when it's -15 C outside... Wink

Silly jokes aside...
* I simply do not wish to install Wine on this Pup at this time.

A couple of questions, if I may:
* You say "fireworks". Is this a graphics program or a sound program, or both?
* Why the choice of a Wine base for this experiment? Could you not write the
__ same as an "ELF" program? I mean: a Linux executable?

BFN.

I tried programming in Linux.

Nothing beyond text based programs.

It is easier to write Windows based programs and there are more resources.

Program always ran fine on XP.

But Wine has problems with many XP programs and prefer Win 7 versions.

I filed a bug report at Wine HQ and have been working with them and expert programmers.

I got help and fixed it so it runs from XP -> Win 10 and Linux.

If you find it easier to write programs for Windows than for Linux, why don't you stick to Windows and leave Linux alone? You keep writing programs in Windows, then wanting us to test them in Linux with Wine. Confused

They are programs I wrote years ago.

There are tons of Windows versions of Linux programs, so why not the reverse ?

If it's not that hard to get Windows code to run in Wine,
why not instead of spending a lot of time re-inventing the wheel?

although i have no interest in running windows programs in wine, some people do. it makes enough sense to ask people that do run wine to try windows stuff in it-- this is useful to both wine itself, and anyone interested in your programs.

if you are working with wine developers to expand its functionality, that is even more true. although i wouldnt likely install wine most of the time, unless it was really important to me to try a windows program. then i would still prefer wine in /linux over windows.
