See link:

I downloaded the .deb and installed in Tahrpup. Works perfectly.

Best,

@backi

Try typing iron in the terminal and let me know what message you get. I've been using the older verions of Iron for a while so it's possible that I already had a dependency installed that it may need.

Let me know what it says.

Thanks,

Default Changer 2b

IMPORTANT: This is a test project and really is not meant to be used for anything except changing the browser default. I have been using it for quite a while, though.

For Tahrpup, I currently use option 5b under the browser option. You could also try 6M or 9. This adds some security scripting and defaults the browser to incognito. Hitting the browser button on your desktop (the generic default browser) should take you in with the scripted settings. 6M is the better to use if it works. For some reason, it wasn't working on the older Iron versions but it seems to work on the new .deb 32 bit package from the previous link. The script only works as your default browser so if you go into the menu and use the browser, the script doesn't work.

Always a good idea to check your security at

I took the tarball and did the necessary tweaks.
It even runs in Wheezy (which has glibc 2.13)
Tested also in Precise and Slacko 5.7.0 (This needed libgconf2 as usual for Chromium derivatives).
I also manually added Pepper Flash Player 20.0.0.306
Seems OK

Oscar,

As usual, you're work is excellent. Thank you. In my opinion, the Chome / Chromium based browsers are much better than the Firefox and their derivatives. IMHO, this is a Palemoon replacement.

It looks like a Sandbox issue. Have you tried the script I sent in the above box? Or, maybe better would be to uninstall and try OscarTalks pet version.

Update: Ok. If you installed the .deb package and you previously used chrome or another chromium based browser; you may need a different sandbox.

The pet below, simply called Iron-1 will change the sandbox from chrome to chromiumX.

Also, for those that can't track it down, the .deb installs at /usr/share/iron

See link above that should solve the .deb install issue.
