Puppy Arcade 11 Slacko 5.9.3, keyboard+mouse not recognized? Subject description: puppy arcade 11 hardware configuration issue?
I'm trying to frugal install Puppy Arcade 11 (Slacko 5.9.3) on a DELL PP39L laptop (not too old, from around 2011, Intel i3 processor, 4 GB RAM).
I have installed this same version of Puppy with no problems on a number of other laptops, however for some reason, after it boots on this machine, either the laptop's trackpad and keyboard are not being recognized or the whole OS is freezing up.
On the startup window there is a message "mouse not working? tab here and press ENTER" but that's a little hard to do without a tab key.
I tried plugging in a USB mouse and keyboard, but no luck.
Note that I got the Wary 5.5 build of Puppy Arcade 11 frugal installed and working on this laptop, so maybe I can use it to edit some config files or otherwise tweak the Slacko install to get it to recognize the input devices.
If anyone has seen this problem or could offer some advice (step-by-step instructions would be best as I am not a Linux expert) that would be very much appreciated...
