Suspend to RAM /S3 issue

What works, and doesn't, for you. Be specific, and please include Puppy version.

Suspend to RAM /S3 issue

#1 Post by nappaji »

I am booting my system (Intel with 965 Chipset) using Puppy version 2.0.2 (kernel 2.6.16.7) on a USB flash drive. I think I am able to put the system into S3 state by typing "echo -n mem > /sys/power/state". However, I am unable to resume from S3 by pressing the power button. The system jsut does not respond to the power button press.

I tried using Windows XP and the Stand by (S3) works fine. I can resume from S3 by pressing the power button.

I just want to make sure that i am doing the right operations on Puppy linux to enter/exit S3. Is there a way to make sure that ACPI is completely enabled? Also, how can i make sure that the system is going into S3 and not into any other state?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
