Pelo

my version was set on Pulse audio

#62 Post by Pelo »

MyGod i am late, my version is only 14.9.0 provided by PuppyBang 6.0.3. I shall update it soon What would be nice is that the Puppy Supplier offers POU which updates all that has to be updated
My Goal is to inform that my version was set on Pulse audio. After long time i found that was what prevent SMplayer to play.
Pls check with new versions. I think nobody thought about that.
puppylinuxworld will be informed for the next releases.

playing HD videos on old machines

#66 Post by norgo »

@backi

if your graphics card is capable for hardware decoding you can reduce the CPU load drastically.
( in case of NVIDIA since GeForce 8000 series afaik )
For this you will need the proprietary graphics driver and mplayer has to be compiled with VDPAU support.
MPV should have VDPAU and VA-API support built-in by default.

In this case SMplayer will show you the API in: video output driver

@festus
thank you for feedback.

If qt-4 is already installed at your system ( I guess it is because you wrote that you are using SMtube )
please use the SMplayer version for shared qt libs.
Statically SMplayer version contains all needed qt libs and is huge.
This version is not necessary in your case.
Uploaded just now SMplayer 17.7.0 for shared qt-4 libs.
Have fun

SMplayer 17.8.0

#78 Post by norgo »

SMplayer version 17.8.0 - statically

compiled under use of Slacko 6.3.0 / Slacko64 6.3.2 and statically Qt 4.8.6

smplayer-17.8.0-s-i686.pet
smplayer-17.8.0-s-x86_64.pet

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
workaround for puppy precise 5.7.1 user:

packages are xz compressed and precise is not able to install such PET's by default.
Fortunately @rerwin has created the xzpet_installpkg package to solve this problem.
After Installation you still have to create two symbolic links
Open a terminal and type:

Code: Select all

cd /lib
ln -s libssl.so.1.0.0 libssl.so.1
ln -s libcrypto.so.1.0.0 libcrypto.so.1
From now on SMplayer PET's should work for you too.

Pelo

make it available for everybody.
