Disco Makberto supplied the missing lib with instructions to place it in /usr/lib/

I turned it into a pet file & added a link to it in original post.
Thanks Perdido.

Do you know if this will run under 5.28.005 (Lupu)? Or will I need to upgrade to one of the newer versions?

Unless I'm missing something, the apparent answer is that 5.28.005 doesn't see the contents of the .sfs after loading it and rebooting. It also didn't seem to find LibreOffice using the .sfs...
Hi RetroTechGuy,
My apologies for not answering sooner.

I will look at trying to load on Lupu and see what I can do about that, or if it will run on Lupu.

The reason the .sfs files are not loading is that Lupu uses version 4.0 of mksquashfs which does not support the xz compression I used.

So....I created .pet files of all the version 10.xx WPS office versions and none of them will run in Lupu. ):

missing library for slacko-6999

#33 Post by festus »

Hello, all

I never could get any version of "wps-office.sfs" to launch in slacko-6999_32bit, because of missing libraries.
This pet fixes that problem and wps launches/runs fine now.

If anyone wants the fix, here it is, 32 bit:
libpng-legacy12-1.4.20-i486.pet 76 KiB
MD5: 186a59dce1f71e5e1776dbe5bd7e358f

64 bit:
libpng-legacy12-1.4.20-x86_64.pet 72 KiB
MD5: 4eeb8f41154e331124e728403c8126c4

bliss,

Hi festus,

Thanks for mentioning the issue with Slacko 6.9.9.9 and wps-office - plus providing the missing llibpng-legacy12-1.4.20 libs.

I added that information to the original post along with links to your pet files.

There is a new version of WPS Office released 09-11-18
http://wps-community.org/download.html

I have not yet decided to make SFS & PET of this new version as the data collection aspect of this new version is somewhat concerning.

One odd part of the EULA requires you to not translate any language package into Japanese.

There are language package .PET files on the first post of this thread that do include Japanese, among other languages.
They should be compatible with the new WPS if you choose to run it.

I tried to install the provided SFS file, but have no success. Application is installed, but won't launch.

I am using BionicPup64. Am I still required to add extra files???

@Xiao - Bionicpup64 needs libpng12 to run WPS Office. Download attached & install by clicking on it in ROX-Filer.

I installed the file without success. Program still won't launch.

Where can I find dependency list of a package and a list of installed programs? Taskbar is frustrating because I can't just copy and paste a shortcut from there.

@Xiao - must be other deps missing - to list of libs required, cd into your wps folder (I do cd /opt/office6) & run
ldd wps > /wpsdeplist.txt
Then view wpsdeplist.txt (in / folder) to look for 'not found' items.

Note: I'm using 2016 version - has fewer deps.
