Here's a private messaging system being developed by MIT which claims to be more secure than the Tor Network.

It seems to use a combination of encryption and a form of random 'noise' generation, which makes it extremely difficult to pick up on metadata and determine whether a message is being sent or received.
Vuvuzela private messaging system
Hello solo.
Nice find. However:
Like any new messaging system, how do you find correspondents? If you
invite people through e-mail, for example, "higher powers" may know who's
using vuvuzela.
A "find vuvuzela buddies here" website is unlikely for the same reason.
Problem is, this type of app needs to be really widespread to counter the
snoopiness of our state agencies.
On another level, the authors seem to be unsure about the interface: it
looks like a hazy cli interface, with no precise contours. The interface should
be more defined and user-friendly? (Or I didn't see this correctly?)
Thanks again for the discovery. BFN.
