I'm running LxpupSc kernel 4.13.4-lxpup64 and I downloaded chromium sfs from LxpupSc repo page.

Well, chromium won't start. In terminal:

Code:
# chromium-browser
su: can't execute '/bin/sh': Permission denied
chown: /root/spot/Downloads/*: No such file or directory
# EXIT="Exit on timeout"

I run LxpupSc without savefile (I just boot it, connect to internet and load sfs on-the-fly).

The /usr/bin/chromium script shows:
Code:
#!/bin/sh
# Chromium32 by AlienBob Run-As-Spot launcher 301017

Do I need the 32-bit compatibility sfs? If so, where to download it? I tried to run sfsget but it is not listed.

Any chance to get chromium working?

Thank you

Which version of LxPupSc?
Which version of chromium?

Your terminal command is wrong - should be just chromium....not chromium-browser

No need for any 32-bit compatibility sfs - LxPupSc is a 32-bit system just the kernel is 64-bit.

There will be no /root/spot/Downloads directory if you have no savefolder....

Chromium works just fine here.....

The LxpupSc version is the one with 4.13.4 kernel (maybe I downloaded it in december 2017).

The Chromium version is the one found at https://sourceforge.net/projects/lxpup/files/Other/LxPupSc/browsers/

On my Laptop with Celeron N3050 Chromium install doesn't work as in my previous post.

On another desktop PC with intel Core-i3 I downloaded and booted the latest LxpupSc kernel 4.14.16-lxpup64 and the same chromium.sfs works well.

I will investigate further and I will try to install the latest LxpupSc to the Celeron laptop.

Embarassed I didn't know this! So 64bit packages won't work in LxpupSc, I have to search for 32 bit ones!

Thank you for your quick reply!

Your cpu may not be adequate for the newest Chromiums....

try an older version from :
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lxpup/files/Other/chromium/

I confirm that the latest LxpupSc release actually installs and can run chromium.sfs perfectly, even on my Celeron N3050 laptop. I don't know why previous LxpupSc release wouldn't.

All's well that ends well!

Thank you!

PostPosted: Sun 04 Mar 2018, 03:22    Post subject: LxPupSc-18.03T-k64

LxPupSc-18.03T-k64 is a 32-bit woof-ce 'testing' branch build with a 64-bit kernel (therefore only compatible with 64-bit capable processors)

LxPupSc-18.03T-k64.iso {devx} - (devx does not include kernel sources or headers) {kernel 4.15.7-lxpup64 sources}

iso md5 = 115987c7b951abfbc7deaac7e22b05b4

Delta from 18.02T is available

- kernel 4.15.7 64-bit built with GCC-7.3.0
(alternative 32-bit kernels 3.16.x 4.4.x & 4.9.x also available - all need firmware in the fdrv)
- Made from Slackware-Current as of Thu Mar 1 23:24:54 UTC 2018
- BUILD_FROM_WOOF='testing;9e01ecb7;2018-02-28 19:24:23 -0600'
- web browser in adrv is light-48.0
- firmware is in fdrv
- alternative fall-back xorg is in ydrv (no need to install unless needed)

**N.B. the 64-bit kernel means that any kernel drivers have to be built in a true 64-bit system - slacko64 with the LxPupSc kernel and it's own devx is suggested but use the kernel sources above

Woof-CE build repository is: http://smokey01.com/peebee/slackocurrent/

Chromium, Firefox, Palemoon and Seamonkey are in the repository and installable via Internet -> Get Web Browser

The versions of the browsers as of 02-mar-2018 with their md5sums are:
chromium_64.0.3282.140+pepper_28.0.0.161 RUN-AS-SPOT :35082d31ee8bfa7e00f4488e5001a099
firefox-52.6.0esr :b3d831eba94e44bf90a63dfa6bcac624
palemoon-27.8.0 :d5fdc19b7fe08103e2cbcc1270e188b6
seamonkey-2.49.2 :20db44d39fe0baef6d8ad4a222f31bc7

firefox-58, iron, slimjet, vivaldi and min are also available
