LxPupSc-18.12+0-uefi-T-k64 is a 32-bit woof-ce 'testing' branch build with a 64-bit kernel (therefore only compatible with 64-bit capable processors)

LxPupSc-18.12+0-uefi-T-k64.iso {devx} - (devx does not include kernel sources or headers) {kernel 4.19.5-lxpup64 sources}

iso md5 = 95ab60d0b09030c5e9a6c11083254fcb

Interim delta updates and newer kernels may be available.

Delta from 18.06M is available

- kernel 4.19.5 64-bit built with GCC-8.2.0
(alternative 32-bit kernels 3.16.x 4.4.x 4.9.x & 4.14.x also available - all need firmware in the fdrv)
- Made from Slackware-Current as of Sat Dec 1 03:16:35 UTC 2018
- BUILD_FROM_WOOF='testing;e5271239;2018-12-01 09:44:16 +0800'
- web browser in adrv is light-48.0
- firmware is in fdrv
- alternative fall-back xorg is in ydrv (no need to install unless needed)

**N.B. the 64-bit kernel means that any kernel drivers have to be built in a true 64-bit system - LxPupSc64 with it's own devx is suggested but use the kernel sources above

Woof-CE build repository is: http://smokey01.com/peebee/slackocurrent/

Chromium, Firefox, Palemoon and Seamonkey are in the repository and installable via Internet -> Get Web Browser

The versions of the browsers as of 20-nov-2018 with their md5sums are:

seamonkey-2.49.4 :58afbe48817271f845dc976edbf8594f
iron, slimjet, vivaldi and min are also available

Boot, Dmesg, video FPS, CPU and mem use at idle, sound, redshiftgui, Sylpheed and Simmie 20.0.4.0, overall perceived performance unchanged from the 4.19.5 kernel on both. I now have absolutely no reason to run any governor other than the default intel_pstate powersave on the i5 laptop. That transition has been gradual but the balance seemed to tilt roughly around the 4.19 kernel for me. Continuing to use LxPupSc as the daily here and I'll squawk if I see anything but so far nothing at all noted.

Update: Updated Slimjet 20.0.4.0 to 21.0.3.0 using peebees slimjet_lxsc_spot_21.0.3.0.sfs. So far, just in the current LxPupSc 18.12T. It accepts the shared profile from 20.0.4.0 with no nags (profile format did change between the 18.x and 19.x versions) and runs my weather loops correctly (a problem from 18.0.5.0 to 20.0.4.0). As above, I'll run with it and see.

Cheers,

Sorry folks - there was a woof-ce problem with umount which now has a fix.

18.12+0 is re-uploaded with md5 4cacd776ad63dfb16f8f5f41ec09e905

If you downloaded the version with md5 95ab60d0b09030c5e9a6c11083254fcb
then rename it to 18.12+A and apply this delta

18.12+0 downloaded and applied. md5sum correct. Just out of curiosity, how did that problem manifest? I mounted and unmounted my data drive and external drives (EXT2) on the several pre-0 test versions and didn't see anything.

Thanks,

If you ran partview all partitions were mounted and remained mounted after partview was closed - and then if you unmounted a partition in pcmanfm it came back mounted again after a short time.....

The problem only appeared after a woof-ce update for the release - the pre-release versions didn't have the problem.

I changed to the new kernel:

# uname -ra
Linux puppypc21146 4.19.6-lxpup64 #1 SMP Sun Dec 2 07:34:59 GMT 2018
x86_64 Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50GHz GenuineIntel
GNU/Linux
#

I changed the kernel but haven't downloaded the new iso, haven't noticed
any need to do that yet.
I am enjoying this pup, seems like the 32bit nexuiz is a little easier
than the 64bit version Smile

Thanks.

EDIT:18.12+0 with md5 4cacd776ad63dfb16f8f5f41ec09e905
will be the base for future deltas so it is worth downloading the A to 0 delta now.....
I've done the change, checksum was good after applying the delta.
Thanks.

Kernel Release: 4.19.8-lxpup64 swapped into LxPupSc 18.12.1 and lxpupsc64 18.06 +13 on the Fujitsu S761 i5 based laptop. Grub4Dos frugal install to SSD.

The usual quick checks run, CPU % and mem use at idle, dmesg warnings and failures, video FPS, sound, SNS connection to Atheros wifi, redshift, Sylpheed, Slimjet 21.0.3.0, lidsuspend and resume, USB drive insertion, etc. Mitigation unchanged from 4.19.7, no problems seen in either the 64b or 32b lxpupsc. Posting from LxPupSc now and I'll use it as the daily (If I can stay away from Cuttlefish Wink ).

Cheers,

Thanks,
