kernel recomp problems

#1 Post by brad_chuck »

I just got a Toshiba U205-5002 laptop (core duo, 4 lb). Great! So the first thing I did was pop in the puppy cd... nothing works.... 800x600 display no lan no wifi nothing..

So I do some hunting and find out that the 3945ABG wifi card had a native linux driver. Great but will not compile. In the docs it says that opions have to be built into the kernel.

anyway.. when I compile the kernel ( Loading the DOTconfig file on the test site ) it is not the same kernel ? ie.. things dont work like alsa.

Any sugjsetions? (SMT support would be cool to but I dont need it for puppy )

I don't know what DOT config file you are using.
If you want to compile for the same kernel used in your current version of Puppy,
get the Dotconfig file out of /lib/modules/
...that is, it is included in every puppy.
