Original question for those who ran into it:
For some reason I can't get Unetbootin to work.
It said it required mtools, I skipped and it won't recognize any USB. So I found a pet for mtools (I think 3.9) and there's no more mtools message, but it still doesn't recognize any USB, saying they need to be FAT32!
So I used GParted, made it FAT32 and... nothing. No drive there. Rebooted assuming mtools could kick in. No dice.
Using X-Slacko 3.0 so it's a fairly new pup, and I've had this unetbootin problem before. Any ideas or forum thread I missed?
