Yes try this.

Download this pet package.
In the file manager Rox, go to where you put the pet package (quickpet_tahr.pet)
Left click on it to install.

Reboot just to make sure it gets saved.
First i had to remove the old quickpet (otherwise i couldn't install the new one). Later i did as you said and it worked. Not in the first place, because i got no menu item. So i searched and found Quickpet in "usr/local/quickpet_precise/quickpet" and copied it to the desktop, also a puppy-icon in it.

By the way, if i use "tahrpup updates" from it on a regular basis (what i did before), is it to keep the system up-to-date and safe?

Thank you all for your help, i'm very pleased, CP. :D

It will keep it up-to-date with what the developer of Tahrpup determines needs to be updated.

Safe is a moving target in the computer world.

Understand that security issues are not at the top of the list in Puppy development.
There is only one person actively developing and updating Tahrpup.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected

Did you click on the pet file and get some message it was already installed?

To get a menu entry try this:
menu->Exit->Rebuild Menu

May need to also reboot.

Yes i got that, that's the reason of the first quote.

I tried, but with and without it didn't work, also i couldn't find it in the menu-manager, CP.

Well, I guess you are at a point where it works, so be happy.

It is not exactly as it should be in a clean fresh install of Tahrpup, but that is probably due to problems in your save.

I could suggest some other things to try, but they may just make more problems.
Trying to cure save file or save folder problems is never easy.
It usually gets down to just start over with a new save.

There should also be a menu entry for Quickpet, but not really needed.

As long as you have a Quickpet icon on the desktop that will run Quickpet.
I will stop trying to make it perfect.

As i said before, i'm very pleased with your help, and for me it's perfect. :D I installed a lot of programs on it, and maybe not always the just "Puppy" way, so it's possible the save-file got corrupted. I know sometimes i asks to much from the netbook, and he let's me know by maximize the processor-speed and i have to wait, CP.
