Beautify plugin

You could be interested to have Beautify as part of your plugins for Gimp.

With older computers, the process is slow for high resolution images, but once they are resized, the process is fast enough. With newer computers, it should not be a concern.

Available for 32 and 64bit Linux systems.

The results are unique; no other Gimp plugins can replicate the effects, not without a lot of work.

Wiki and tutorials here : https://github.com/hejiann/beautify/wiki
Additional borders and textures are available on the same website. To be downloaded separately.

I found this Beautify plugin to be quite useful for a lot of photographs, but it is mostly portrait-oriented.

If only i would be able to use the additional borders and textures. i did this :
Installing Additional Borders and Textures
Extract the contents of Rip-Border-Textures.zip and Texture-Border-Textures.zip to your gimp-2.x folder.

But they don't show up in the Beautify menu. The developer was of no help to solve the problem. I was told to do the above-mentionned instructions. When installed, you benefit from a good number of borders and textures, and you can add your own.

more info about Beautify plugin

Make sure you copy the rip-border folder and texture-border folder to your hidden .gimp-2.8 folder, the same folder where your scripts and plug-ins folders are located.
http://gimpscripts.com/2014/02/beautify/

The Gimp profile directory

This directory is the root of a tree where Gimp keeps your settings. To locate the Gimp profile directory:

Start the Python-fu console: "Filters/Python-fu/Console"
Enter "print gimp.directory" (without the quotes)
What prints out is the Gimp profile directory

http://gimp-tools.sourceforge.net/

After doing some web search, i found more information about beautify plugin, to help me with extra folders containing more ressources, because i still keep having the same basic features.

It seems there is a hidden Gimp 2.8 folder, where user has to put extra folders containing more textures and borders.
