Building the Linux PC for Sale
If anyone were to market a Linux PC created from older parts then which PC speed might be too slow? I'm guessing 1.3Gig.
Will be glad to take other suggestions for minimum hardware performance.
I'd be glad to hear about any of the above related suggestions.

I sell refurbished laptops in my small town. It is a side venture from my M/C shop business. They are usually atom cpu n270 with 1 gig of ram and come with a/c adapters. They are toughbook style made and work very well.
http://www.macomp.com/companionpc.asp
I've sold them with SlackO 5.7 or Windows XP.
In my area. There is no interest in something new or unfamiliar.
So usually Windows XP or 7 is preferred over any Linux operating system.
My latest Android 9 inch Netbook where I installed i386 5.0 Lollipop with a Atom CPU and 1 gig of ram for
80 bucks has not got any hits when I advertise it on the radio.
So when I advertise it. I have to leave the Android part off I guess. Computer gear has flooded the market and I can even find Vista machines in the alley next to dumpsters sometimes.
I guess it boils down to , location, location, location. On how well your idea will pan out.
I know Dell dual core used PCs have flooded the market and can be had for cheap if you know what you are doing to find one.
Same can be said low profile HP Desktop Towers.

Roky,
Thanks for the information post.
The idea of finding a consistent set of obsolete PCs sounds like a good way to start. I'll have to think about that one.
My ideas concerning the Linux OS relies on its easy and inexpensive availability.
Provided on how this planning stage goes then I'll pass along updates.
Great start.

I scrapped him off the road 18 years ago as a kitten thrown out of a car Window while riding behind the car that threw him out on the freeway. He probably will be gone by Monday, if not sooner.
He is in my lap and the only reason I am on my little netbook now on a Friday night. He has been a good shop cat and hunter.
No rattle snake ever got past him.
Bummed out, Rok
Wow a hard working cat is so difficult to find they are all on instagram looking fat and lazy never saw a rat or felt like taking on a snake. To me cats are nearly worthless, remember the stories of the farm cat that not only feed itself, but gave gifts of its prowl delivered to your door. It perfectly happy to find its own place to bed down, didn't need catnip to calm its nerves or stupid toys with strings nor a scratching post. Sounds like you are going to be one hard working employee less soon. Sorry to hear that.
I had my own hardworking wild cat for years, would put food out for it only with very cold weather coming. Otherwise, she would sun herself on the hood of my tractor and hide under the wooden pine log table watching for traspassors of the tiny field mice. She kept her distance and I was happy with her. Could swear she would raise her head like whats up nod and that was all the attention needed.
