well the interview went well. Kind of out of the way, But I have a good feeling about it:) I also have a chance at another job with the government, I would like that one better, Its closer and much higher pay. Plus I still have 2 days left with the job I have now, It was just a short term job.

Well back to doing what I like most, Linux, If Linux paid well for what I do, I would do it 15hrs a day, hmmmm thats what I do now,lol
Seriously that "creationfest" your going to looks similar to what "Hill Song" has here every year, Just that its really expensive and is more like Shopping mall, more on the commercial side. I'm more for the grass roots type of church, Kind of like the one you probably go to.
Anyways have fun.

Well -- when the church we had been at four a looong time went kinda toward creating a nightclub, we settled for a very unpretentious place that focuses on the basics. (Yeah, a pretty good thing to focus on!)

Last time i went to anything like this i was my son's age -- Jesus '78!

Well I've been working on "ttuuxxxTv" and basically VLC, I've managed to get VLC down to 5MB and a bit less, It plays all the video streams for "ttuuxxxTV" very fast, full screen etc. Formats like asx.xvid, avi plays great, Just dvd is broken, I must of compiled it 40 times by now. I might just include it the way it is, but first I'll try another 10 or so times.
Worst case i'll include it and also Goggles dvd player for dvd's since it does such a great job for a small package. Plus it has nice features like remembering where you left off, and instant play of the dvd when you click the icon. etc
Or I could leave gxine and included VLC without a menu icon just linked to "ttuuxxxTV"
I'm also making a small version of Fire Hydrant for this one person who needs a small os for his laptop, but that should be quick, I'll be done that in a few hours, Plus I have a really bad head-cold and I've been working for Office company locally. I must squeeze 40hrs out of 24 some days. :)
anyways Have you found any new religious tv-streams, When I was building the last "ttuuxxxTV", I must of viewed 50 of them and really tried to pick the best content for a round area of viewing. Keeping in mind what people would enjoy viewing. Just wondering because with the new format I can handle a few more new streams. All I need is the website URL and I can get the stream, either by reading the source or tracking the download.

Also glad to see you had a nice trip, Its really nice that you can pass down to your son a bit of heritage that you started 30yrs ago. Maybe he'll do the same with his kids :)

Hmm - i never did any internet TV except when i tried out Living Water! Maybe if i get a chance i will google around for some...

Curious - how small is that Fire Hydrant? I have a laptop (P1, 48 MB RAM) that will NOT run anything but DSL and Windoze 98...well, it DOES run Puppy 1.09CE VERY slowly.... Whattaya think, will that special Fire Hydrant you are creating work on it? Don't go makin' a custom job for me, but i'd like to download and try the one you're making.

Sorry I've been off topic lately working on that smaller release, I'll get back to building the next release of "Living Water" on friday.
After I'm finished with "Living Water" I'll start on working on the next "Fire Hydrant Infero" release, I've had a lot of people asking when it will be released. :)

Don't apologize! You're not getting paid for this, y'know! :)

Are you posting that small release at your website? It sounds interesting, esp. since "Mean Puppy" is getting a little dated.

Well its small, but not as small as mean puppy because it still has Xorg plus all the slackware libs, http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=31049
One of the Netsurf browsers doesn't download right, I used the one from puppy 4.0 but I didn't know it was faulty, So if you install the Netsurf browser from puppy 3 it works fine overtop. I'll have to change it in a bit, I have a few files i'll update later on it.

Naaa its an older version plus it doesn't have any of the kde or gnome base parts which was the hardest part to actually get working, It would of been nice to have that to start with, but I'm way past that now, I'm at the moment trying to get epiphany browser working. well with the Gnome base I built up, basically its a small add on if I can configure it, I've been having dbus problems, etc.

Hi

Well I started working on what the window manager is going to be like.
I have the latest Icewm and LXpanel working, below is a picture. The top is icewm and the bottom is LXpanel, I like the newer looking blinky and menu on lxde, What I'm thinking about doing is using Icewm as the window manager and removing just the menu & taskbar from icewm and using LXpanel for the menu & taskbar. Actually I have them both open right now, confusing having pages open up above and below, LOL
Actually I can put Icewm on the bottom and lxpanel covers over top, LOL if one crashes you have the other as a backup. LOL
Naaa I wouldn't do that it would take a little extra resources.
Anyways tell me what you think?

Ttuuxxx you're doing incredible work here. I've been quietly following this as it may prove very useful to me. I wish I could contribute but alas I have no idea yet how to do the programming. It'd be nice if there was a class on how to do this stuff.

I think everything you've done so far towards the new Living Water is fantastic. Living Water has a few glitches but it seems you're flying getting this together so I won't worry about it. I'm ready for an alpha release guinea pig job. Just say when.

Great Work!!!

Count me in to test the alpha version when it is ready. I am always up for something fun like that. I would be happy to test on my tower and my laptop. Perhaps I could use for the kiosk I am building for my church. Well, I may not go that far, but there is potential....
The only windows I have are those on my home.

Well Guys I spent most of my day trying to change blinky, I then Asked a really nice puppy user for some help and before you knew it, A new to puppy blinky was born. Well looks anyways, I just quickly put together the lxde/lxpanel blinky to test it out, Tomorrow i'll build new images from scratch. What a task to change blinky images, Its all code no pictures etc.
anyways I included a picture of the lxde/lxpanel blinky on puppy 4.0
The great thing about it also, I can change the backgrounds while building the images. Like have a default black and a default white or grey, Well I'll make them match whatever theme I build for "Living Water"
anyways thanks for reading up. It also depends if icewm needs backgrounds or if transparent backgrounds work, sometimes it did and sometimes it didn't. I guess I know more tomorrow.

hi Guys

I've been hard at it all week, Basically tomorrow, I'll release a new Icewm Window manager package I've been working on for 4 or so days, Takes for ever because Most of the default 16x16 icons are too small, and I have to manually resize/change file names/find newer replacements etc. Puppy has over 200 of them including links so it does take a bit of time, lol
I basically would like some users to test the icewm window manager for a few days and tell me how it runs, I don't have any older pc's, And in the past icewm had problems with older pc's, mostly shutdown and pupsave issues, so if anybody has an older testbed 400-800mhz etc that would be great. It will have my new blinky and free memory applet, i also included some new programs in the free memory applet right click menu, similar to version 3.0.
here's a picture of how its starting to shape up.

I just updated the ICEWM window manager, now I'm 100% happy with how it runs :)
I still could use some test on older pc's???
like install, with a pupsave and reboot.

Tomorrow I have to work so I probably won't get much done, But come Tuesday, well I have 2 programs left to finish, then I have to make a theme for "Living Water" and basically package it all together, update the website, and finally I think it will be finished :)
So please be patient, not much longer. Thanks for your time and interest.

Ooh-ooh!!! Hooray! :D I was just a bout to do a frugal on my main machine -- runs a tad slow with Mepis, thought about having an alternate system. Glad i checked this forum, usually i get e-mail notes when it's active but i haven't been. Soo--i will download this as soon as you post it and give it a whirl! I am looking forward to it and will mention it on the ChurchPup page (believe it or not, we still have some action there).

If you still need the new IceWM theme checked on slower machines, lemme know....i have everything from a 166MHz with 48MB RAM (fuggetaboutit!), to seceral PII's, PIII's, and newer. I'll do the same for your alpha, if you like.

Blessings!

Hi

Yes please try it out on about 500mhz or so,
pupsave file and reboot with it.
And see if it returns you to the icewm window manager.
Also I built vlc and if you could test that. It would also be great
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=31890
at the bottom of page 1 also there's a patch for mp4/Quicktime if our testing that sort of stuff.
Thanks ever so much
