pemasu wrote:Majorfoo. Since you reported the dependencies complaints. Why didnt you install the audacious-deps pet. I have posted about it a while ago.
The deps take several Mb`s and they dont stop Audacious, it is only nuisance when launched in console.
So...Install this previously announced pet.

http://www.smokey01.com/pemasu/pet_pack ... -0.0.1.pet

Ok. It does not seem to be in PPM visible. I need to check why and fix it.
installed audacious-deps-0.01.pet

when run from console, get the following
sh-4.1# audacious
Failed to load plugin (/usr/lib/audacious/Transport/neon.so): libneon-gnutls.so.27: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Failed to load plugin (/usr/lib/audacious/Output/pulse_audio.so): libpulse.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
sh-4.1#

the two missing plugin's above do not stop audacious from running

another nuisance

About e17. Well...I have used many hours with compiling, testing and packaging it. I am sure you know how you feel, if you have to abandon that kind project. So...not yet. I want to see at least in my comp the result of my work.
Don't let people deter you on dropping E17.
E17 is far more configurable in a user-friendly way then JWM, Openbox-fbpanel, etc.... But as with every new facility people have to make efforts to learn.
So I hope you continue.
I have it on Lucid, Next alpha2 and polar pup.
On spup beta1 it didn't start. (made a post of this)

This doesn't mean there are no quirks.
I have reported issues and have others to report.

rcrsn51. Thank you of confirming that printing section seems working. Printing has been problematic, but now we know why. Karl Godt found the missing /usr/share/ghostscript stuff, now we know that it is due to woof and how to fix it. Barry knows that also. /etc/cups/cupsd.conf hack is known now and Barry has asked the working conf which I posted. Iguleder has sent his fixing woof templates to Barry also.I suppose woof has even implemented the fixing stuff. I havent checked since I implement the needed fixes to be sure. It looks like we havent overlooked anything, but....you never know...

Great Job. Thanks for your patience with me on this matter.

Majorfoo. Thank you of stubborn Audacious dependencies tracking. I had in fact done proper dependencies pet, but...it seems I uploaded wrong one. Now I made the proper again. It has as installed 7 Mb mostly unneeded dependencies like whole set of libpulseaudio.
My multimedia package is lazy man hack of potentially good stuff.
But...compiling latest needs gtk 3.0 stuff, thats what Playdayz posted and I wont touch on that.
I would compile older version, but since I dont use Audacious, it is the compile in the to do list a little far away atm.
Anyway. Audacious seems to work for straight playing without that dependencies. People who really use for its full potential can test what works and what not without that big dependencies pet.

Ok. First needed missing small tool has been found. It has been missing all the time, but now I got feedback. PupControl and PupShutdown relies on gfontsel. It is massive 32 k tool as installed.
Use Dpup Exprimo Updater from Menu > Setup etc to download the package to the /root/Downloads and install it.

No, the fix is coming in the next build.

I'm using Window Maker in Wary 5.1.4.1 as well, it's working perfectly in Wary.
I like it a lot, it's been around for years but I saw it for the first time in Iguleder's puplet.

review of Exprimo 5x5
I was able to get the right clock time
by typing 'countrywizard' or 'countrywizard.qs'
in the terminal and Shinobar's program launched.
'Personalize settings' would have done the same.

So I recomend that you delete the program that
I wrote to set the clock, set_linux_clock.sh .

There's a file /root/.config/first_run/bingo
that prevents my program from running

Also I see now that you have an excellent
PDF reader installed called 'Evince'.
So there is no need to have zathura installed as well.
You should write a right click option to
launch PDF files with evince.

Why do you include puppy PDF convert when it
requires Abiword to be installed??

Have you considered installing FBReader since
it can open several text formats including RTF ?

The icon in bottom shelf for
'Ppoweroff shutdown dialog'
is not very appropriate.

I tried Softmaker 2008 with Exprimo and it worked well
but I didn't try printing with it.

5.X.5 loaded and runs fine on my netbook Samsung NB30.

Touchpad scrolling feature does not work (it works in Fluppy 013)

Display does not seem to be overlapped as in 5.X.3

Why are there two file managers on the desktop, plus a Home icon that pops-up another file manager - but it doesn't allow me to go up a level?

CUPS is working and hplip_print-3.11.7 does recognize and handle the HP 1000 j110 printer. Hooray & thanks!

Now ... what can I break?

EDIT1: Frisbee connects and remembers the connection on reboot. Hooray!

There are some real cheap ($49. USD) IP cameras with ptz (pan, tilt, zoom) features being dumped onto the market.

ZoneMinder does not support them because they use the proprietary activex interface - something they fail to mention in the specs.

ipcam claims that they bypass the activex thing somehow.

Any chance someone could create a SFS for ipcam for 5.X.5, please?

It is old but I am hoping it will work.

BTW: This camera uses an RJ-45 internet cable rather than USB.

Thank you of the critical comments and suggestions.
Don570. I will let Zathura to exist. Puppy community has created, you also, gui for it, compiled it several times....and I dont mind if there is two apps for same task. My main aim is not to produce one app per task puplets. I have produced all the time little bigger puplets. That is my nature. So I will give Zathura an place in Exprimo. It is small anyway.

Puppy PDF Convert comes from woof. All those woof apps needs definitive removing from woof, I havent added it, I just havent removed it. If you start to remove stuff from woof, you need to do it every time. Manually or using scripts. Woof upload cycle has been really redundant in last weeks. I havent given much thought to remove stuff from woof, there has been job enough to learn what has been changed and added.

Icons and right clicks. Yep, that is my next job. Now that the base seems solid enough, I concentrate on outlook and user friendly things.

I remove your script from rc.local. If you are satisfied in personalize settings, it is ok for me. Shinobar updated his Firstrun and so I was able to use it. Hostname changing was broken in it several months. Now it works and also it supports nicely the unique hostnames which 01micko implemented. It is good tool.

I will check you desktop package when I get back home from work. Thank you. And also your update of bacon recorder. As you know, I have from the beginning included your magnificent right clicks and small apps. Highly appreciated.
I inspect the right clicks thoroughly also and add those which are missing. Because Exprimo tries to be modular, it is challenge what I do with all those optional apps in sfs repo.

I read all the posts through when I come back.

My next project is to update Polarpup, since it uses Thunor`s new gtkdialog and several gtkdialog based apps are now broken. That is somekind necessity update. I wont update woof or do overall application updates. I just download those apps using woof and it autoupdates the distro (using new packages-puppy-common-official file of course). I only fix those and some other small things. Well acpi script update happens also. Exprimo will benefit from one of my findings. Performance-brightness script needs better logic to use laptop values for best brighness. I improved the script yesterday and I will implement the better script in Exprimo also.

So UPDATE package will be coming.
To be continued.......
