Hi ttuuxx, regarding pup screenshot, It,s hard to decide anything just looking at jpegs, (which looked fine to me on my 17" screen), we need something to play with, but only if you think it's up to the job.
Nicoedit-I'm no developer so others must decide wheather this is better than geany. The size difference is impressive but I would miss the tabs. I only need a basic text editor therefore hope you keep leafpad.

Hello, ttuuxxx!
I know you've been compiling ahead, but is there any documentation as to where you've been up-dating the original 2.14R? One reason I ask is that I've been trying to get my (somewhat dated/ancient) hardware to work with this version of Puppy. Don't get me wrong, my main distro for the last couple of weeks has actually been 214x4. It's just that I'm having troubles with DVD (mostly solved) and analogous TV (still, somewhat, cumbersome).
By the way, I'd like to try your screen-shot-thingy out, can you, please, upload it somewhere for testing?
cheers/

Hi Guys I'll Upload Pup-shots in a few, I just have to change the last icon, plus figure out one more code thing, I noticed when I moved the file, also the screenshots get moved, so I have to specify where the output lands or we'll be having the images in usr/bin, lol

I think it was ,gxine,libxine,ffmpeg,x264 and maybe one other, once you install gxine from series 4, it tells you all the missing deps.

Ok guys I packaged it up, it was a bit of a process, lol
The way I made it, it will replace your current screenshot app, so just install it and 'Refresh Menu' and away you gooooooo.
The reason its so large is because that I included the needed imlib2 library which is large, but it will be very useful in the future with other image related applications and also icewm etc. So its all good.

Hi runtt21 well give it a shot and see, if your missing any libs I could supply them, probably should be ok. You can always uninstall it.runtt21 wrote:Will pup-shots work in any of the 4.xxx puppy's ?
I checked the deps for the libs and it looks ok. Report back please

Updated v1 with extra icons for non-2.14X users. Since 2.14X has the complete GTK2 icon set, they would of been missing a couple.

Oh ya imlib2 comes with a few extra fonts, So that's included in the package, they are system linked to the puppys main fonts, so if you open Abiword, you'll have a few new fonts to play with

Yes thats how it that particular one works, it makes a 600w thumbnail, Must be a big thumb, lol and also it gives you the regular screenshot that could be resized with mtpaint/gimp etc.runtt21 wrote:Tested using the "crop fullscreen image for forum posting." It made both a full sized image and a croped one.

well thats a kicker I read on the e17 site when I was trying to find the svn for that cool looking picture viewer that it has based on GQview, that it needed imlib2 to function and by the looks of things looks like you got away with imblib 1.9, hmmm imlib2 is a complete rewrite of imlib1 with more functions but its not made a replacement its made as a additional. Strange way to make it. Yep I agree now that version 1 is what you need due to the missing imlib2, hmmm if your going to use it for your next release, you might want to compile and include imlib2 with your build and devx, its a good library to have included and since your using it, it wouldn't add to any weight of the release, just a bit to the devx.runtt21 wrote:I pluged it into macpup opera 061 (4.2v2 with the latest version of e17 999.061) no go .I think we should just stick to the first one it works great
